crochet hook.

I have felt particularly crafty of late. Or I have given myself over to that crafty bug I always have. Either way, crochet is the chosen craft this second. It may not last long, because I have other ideas that nag in the back of my head. I have only ever done a simple crochet stitch as in my refresher scarf below.

I then quickly transitioned to doilies. How very grandma of me! I’m not sure what I will do with my new found doily making skills. I did have ideas, but I think the doily making process is a bit more time consuming than I want to invest in the project I had in mind. We’ll see! I may have more sitting round time in my future where crocheting doilies is the perfect activity.

Fall is here.

SDC10854
No disillusions of summer hanging on. Fall is firmly taking hold with Winter close on its heels. Right now I am drinking a cup of tea and eating homemade chili that consists mostly of the last of the ingredients from my garden. Tomatoes, carrots, jalapenos, and habaneros. Fresh cooked beans. Good to keep warm with in this cool, rainy weather.
Last night we attended a reading by poets John Gallaher and G. C. Waldrep as part of the release of COPPER NICKEL 12. Visit http://www.copper-nickel.org to pick up your copy.

Art by Craft Opening.

Over in the Vital Studio we have been very busy lately. Has it only been a week since Renegade?? We are working late in the studio tonight restocking our glassware selection. AND we would like to say the Denver Handmade Alliance Art by Craft event is progressing nicely. I believe it will be a wonderful crafty event! The vendors have been announced over at denverhandmade.org and the details for the opening are finalized. It is going to be a low key meet and greet for local crafters, as well as a crafty supply swap and potluck. So, stop by and bring your unwanted supplies and a dish to pass! See you there!
